Interlumi Panama, the NO.1 International Lighting Fair in the Region

As a new member of the global lighting trade show, InterLumi Panama is planned to open from 6 - 8 July 2016 at the fairground ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama. Benefiting from its geographic advantages, the 3 days fair is believed to be the most influential lighting fair in the region, according to the America Expo Group.

Connectivity gives Panama a unique position on world trade. Located on the Central America isthmus with the great Canal connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea to the north of the Pacific Ocean, Panama’s geographical advantages appeal to not only those aggressive market explorers but also the foreseers who are stepping toward the future trend. The Panama Canal changed world trade by reducing distances, times and costs of the transportation of goods between production and consumption centers. According to Canal de Panamá, the waterway connects 144 maritime routes that reach 1,700 ports in 160 countries. The canal expansion project expected to be completed in 2016 will enable the canal to handle post-Panamax ships and will double the canal's capacity.

What’s more, the facilitation of Colon Free Trade Zone has made Panama the regional trade hub. As the first center of distribution of western hemisphere and the only multimodal logistic center in the region, products are able to be redistributed through the zone. And there is no import duty, trade barrier and no import license needed for lighting products!

“Obviously, Panama is definitely the first choice to hold lighting events in Latin America and the Caribbean.” said by Mr. Vicento Sim, the Trade Fair Director of America Expo Group. “Most people in the region admire Panama’s stable political situation and sustainable economic growth. Those can be called a basis for all kinds of trades about lights and lamps.” The earlier statistics had shown that growth of Panama lighting product import from 2005 to 2013 reached 300.16%. For future, the Latin American and Caribbean lighting market is expected to exceed 6.5 billion USD in 2020.

InterLumi Panama is an international lighting trade fair organized by America Expo Group (AEG), whose business is specialized in emerging market, mainly in Panama at present. Thanks to the geographic advantages of Panama, AEG will launch more trade-oriented events in various industries by combining its regional sources with the global network. The event will take place on 6 – 8 July, 2016 at ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama. For more information, please visit  or email
