Central America: $89 million for Public Works Projects

The information system "Construction Projects in Central America", complied by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, provides an up to date list of the public and private construction projects for which environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies were submitted to the respective institutions of each country in January 2017.

Details of some of the projects: 

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport  of Costa Rica submitted an EIA for renovation of the Naranjo - Paquera road in Puntarenas.The project is called "Improvement and Renovation of National Route 16 Naranjo-Parquera" and the total investment has been estimated at $52.9 million.  

The Ministry of Public Works  in Panama submitted three EIAs to carry out 2 roadworks projects in Cocle province and one in Panama West. According to the studies, for the 3 projects for design and construction of roads the total investment amount is $24.8 million.

The Municipality of Panama  submitted an EIA to build, in the town of Calidonia, a commercial building with 3 levels and 2 basements. The project is called "underground parking, peripheral market and crafts market, square and commercial premises" and the total investment amount is estimated at $11,564,749.
