Lighting Practitioners in Guatemala Gear Up for InterLumi Panama 2017


As part of the promotional and marketing activities in reference to the second edition of InterLumi Panama that will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2017, a formal presentation to expand InterLumi's recognition was carried out at the Panamanian Embassy in Guatemala on November 30, 2016.

The presentation was initiated within the framework of a strategic alliance with the Guatemalan Association of Lighting (AGI). AGI is a non-profit organization that was created with the purpose of educating and strengthening the values of efficient lighting, as well as becoming a bridging platform between different entities and the lighting industry in Guatemala. It is also worth mentioning the joint collaboration of AGI and InterLumi Panama will surely stimulate the industrial growth and technological development, especially in terms of efficient lighting, in the following years.


Ms. Ana Hernandez, Executive Director of the AGI, kicked off the presentation by pointing out the importance of AGI and InterLumi’s alliance, which will benefit both parties not only commercial but also technological aspects by boosting the integrated development of lighting industry in Latin America. Ms. Hernandez also complimented InterLumi Panama’s professionalism for being a pioneer project in the region. She acknowledged InterLumi’s uniqueness and exclusiveness in involving business and promoting energy efficiency in lighting, as well as uniting relevant organizations to achieve industrial sustainability.


Mr. Rafael Galue, the speaker on behalf of America Expo Group (AEG) for InterLumi Panama, then introduced the new features of the 2017 show to the attendees, which will include but not limited to smart-lighting-themed products and technologies. In addition, he stressed the significance of InterLumi Panama to the industry’s technology and trade development and AEG’s persistence on promoting efficient lighting. It is believed that by allying different parties, e.g. associations, event organizers, government agencies and non-profit organizations, the concept of applying efficient lighting can be enhanced to the overall society.

The last speech was given by Mr. Ivan Galvez, Commercial Aggregate of the Embassy of Panama in Guatemala. He highlighted the importance of AGI and InterLumi’s partnership with a view to strengthen the economic growth of the region as a whole and was pleased to participate in the presentation and witness the birth of a historic and unprecedented alliance for the lighting market in Central America. "InterLumi Panama is laying a solid foundation for the development of the lighting industry with close cooperation forged between the two parties," added Mr. Galvez.


A cooperation agreement, as one of the achievements of this campaign, has been signed between America Expo Group and the Guatemalan Association of Lighting to officially confirm and jointly declare the cooperation on exhibitor and visitor sectors for InterLumi Panama 2017.
